Information You Submit
Names, phone numbers, and addresses placed in sponsored search forms go to the third-party provider operating those forms. We do not keep those terms on our servers. Information sent in a message is used to answer that message.
Routine Technical Data
Standard hosting logs can contain an IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time stamps. We use aggregate activity to maintain the service and understand which references are useful. Cookies or similar technology may support basic analytics and advertising measurement.
How Data Is Used
We use technical information to operate and troubleshoot the site, measure traffic, and improve pages. We do not sell lists of visitors or build personal profiles of them.
Links to Other Websites
Links may open Rock Island County or Illinois portals, library collections, archives, and outside search services. Data entered on those services is governed by their own privacy policies. Sponsored results are likewise supplied by a separate company.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law determines any right to access, correct, or delete personal data held here. The Illinois Personal Information Protection Act, 815 ILCS 530, primarily governs data security and breach notices; it does not provide a broad deletion right for information lawfully available from government records. Public-record access follows the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, including section 3 response rules and section 6 fee rules. Because little data is retained, a request normally concerns the contact mailbox or available server logs. Use the Contact page. Illinois, Rock Island County, and Moline records remain controlled by their public custodians.
Updates to This Policy
Any change to this policy will be posted on this page. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
